Why I’ve decided to tell my story

Having beaten cancer twice in the last two years, my goal is to get back running and to discover how far I can go. My aim is to see if I can return to running events, to running marathons, and hopefully to breaking my own records, but only time will tell.Manchester

It took me a while to decide whether or not to tell my story. A number of close friends suggested it would be a story worth telling, inspiring, perhaps motivational for others, so I decided I would give it a go.

For me, I thought that if I can help to positively motivate or influence even a single person from writing this blog then it would be worthwhile. I am hoping to find the process cathartic, but really what I want is for people to know that no matter how tough things get, you should never give up on your goals or your dreams. Not giving up on my goals as a runner is a huge part of what has helped motivate me to get through this extremely difficult and testing time, and to keep on going.
